Chesterfield 2's got their win first win of the season after a hard fought win over Kingston-Upon-Hull 2s, thanks to two second half goals from Dan Caron.

It was a surprise for both teams that they reached half time without either side scoring. Kingston Upon Hull had a handful of chances to score, and were left to rue their misses. The opponents dominated the early exchanges with possession and fluid hockey, whilst the home team struggled to win, and then keep, the ball. However Chesterfield improved in the later stages of the first half, as they exhibited greater composure on the ball and came close to scoring themselves.

A different Chesterfield side came out in the second half and started to play in a more patient style, holding up play, and not forcing the ball forward through contact. This quickly led to opportunities for Chesterfield, Dan Caron smashing the ball past the keeper for his first.
Kingston-Upon-Hull weren't done yet though as their attacking midfielder scored through the keepers legs, after a mazy run into the D.
Chesterfield turned the crank, and created some more clear cut chances. Dan Caron scored again, and almost completed his hatrick too. The ball fizzed across the area to him, however his touch deserted him when he needed it and open net went begging.

As the rain started to fall, the final whistle blew and Chesterfield will be well pleased with a deserved 3 points.

Thanks to Paul, Adam, Robbie,and Femi, who all stepped up from the 3s this week and brought some valued experience to the team.
