Kingston upon Hull 2 v Chesterfield 2

On the 13th of January, a depleted (11.5 man) Chesterfield Men's 2nd team travelled away to an on-form Kingston upon Hull who currently sit second in the league.

The first half saw Chesterfield attack the game with plenty of spirit where they had to face two short corners (1 goal), one penalty stroke (1 goal) and a yellow card putting the side down to ten for ten minutes. During this time the team condensed and tried to ride out the deficit until a stray ball saw Charlie Nixon dashing for a 1-on-1 with the opposition keeper which lead the team onto an unsuccessful short corner attempt.

After half time, the fatigue of the side after an intense first half started to show and Chesterfield's luck didn't improve with another green card, two more penalty flicks (1 goal), 2 more penalty corners (1 goal) and a well executed goal from free play to Hull.

The outcome of the match was a 5-0 loss and a lot of lessons to take away regarding game management.

Ewan Wrigley was man of the match for his great skills down the left wing of the pitch.

Next week, Chesterfield Men's 2nd team look forward to playing Wakefield Men's 4's who tied 4-4 at their last meeting early in the season in an exciting end to end match.
