U17s boys face the best regional teams

Massive congratulations to Oliver Addy and Luke Nash who have been selected to represent U17s Boys East Midlands Performance centre at the Challenge Cup at the end of July.

The Challenge Cup is a new England Hockey competition that replaces the Futures cup. It pits the U15 and U17 boys and girls from the various regional performance centres to play off against each other over 29th to 31st July at Nottingham Hockey Centre.

Oliver Addey, instantly recognisable from his height and blonde hair, has been a player and member of CHC for a number of years, starting in junior hockey and making swift progress in the adult section. He has played U12/U14 and last season in U16 for CHC. He flourished in the badgers, where he relished the physical challenge against the adults! An athletic forward, Ollie has become a regular in the 1st team and grown as a player.

Luke Nash, is a gifted player who has improved technically and positionally this season. He has played regional prem level for the Men's 1s, in his first year of 1st team hockey at just 15! Like Ollie, he has played throughout the teams at Chesterfield and once old enough for adult hockey he rose quickly up the ranks.

Luke said "I'm looking forward to the social side of things at challenge cup. We will get to stay over at the University with rest of the teams, which gives us a chance to meet other players from different regions and catch up with friends I made at the futures cup".

Talking about the challenge cup Ollie said "I am very pleased to be selected as it’s been something I have been focused on achieving for the last few years it’s also a great opportunity to play competitive hockey against some of the best players in my age group"

From all at CHC - best of luck to you both, we'll be watching out for the results!
