This weekend two of CHC's young boys played in a UK regional tournament that took place at Nottingham Hockey Centre. Rob and Regan played for the Team North East - a squad picked from the best U13 boys around Yorkshire and the North East leagues, after extensive trials and selection.

The UK Lions tournament is a tournament where various regional teams play off in group and then knock stages against each other - pitting the youngsters against each other at the highest level. During the group stages, the Team North East won three out of four of their matches, and drew the fourth. After a tight semi-final that they won by 1-0, they moved on to the final of the trophy competition. The final was another close match and Team North East were just edged by 2-1. Finishing 2nd in the trophy competition, winning silver medals, the boys can rightly feel very proud of their achievements. To top it off, Regan was awarded a trophy "GK of the tournament" and received a £160 voucher for a hockey stick as a prize - well played Rocket!
