CHC are delighted to be involved with Chesterfield’s first ever walking sports event.
Working alongside Chesterfield Council and Chesterfield FC community Trust we will be running taster sessions of walking Hockey at the event, alongside walking versions of netball, rugby, cricket, and football.
This is a free even to attend, taking place at the Queens Park pavilion on Wednesday August 19th, from 5-8 pm. Whilst we have some coaches and volunteers already pencilled in, if you would like to help please let us know.
Obviously, if you would like to attend the event and take part in not just the Hockey, but some of the other sports we would be delighted to see you as well.
The evening is designed to provide access to multiple sports that people are either currently playing, have played in the past or are complete novices.
The walking aspect obviously makes it more accessible to either people who have limited mobility or just find the physical exertion of a running sport difficult. The activities are aimed at those in the 40 years plus age group.
We think it will be a fun evening, hopefully in the sun, in the park and it would be great to see you there either representing CHC as helpers or enjoying the activities provided.
