Clive was a stalwart of Staveley Women's Hockey Club, acting as Chairman for a number of years and relentlessly representing the club at many a league meeting.

Clive was Christine’s right-hand man and huge supporter of her involvement with the women's teams.

Clive's love of hockey saw him regularly umpiring for the Staveley teams. His umpiring at the annual Blackpool hockey tournament was legendary - it was through both Christine and Clive's enthusiasm and encouragement that Staveley Women's Hockey Club entered teams to the prestigious tournament. He made sure that we were made to feel welcome, and was proud to have Staveley representation there.

Clive's contribution ensured that countless Staveley players created memories and friendships to last a lifetime.

Clive was also an active member of the St John's Ambulance, happily giving his time to help others.

A celebration of Clive's life, burial and wake are on Monday 24th August at 12 noon at Storrs Road Methodist Church (S40 3NR) and Chesterfield Football Club. All are welcome.
