Starting on Wednesday 15th April 2026, through to 20th May 2026, Chesterfield HC are running another class of Hockey Heroes for 6 -10 year olds looking to give hockey a try for the first time.

Hockey Heroes is a six week hockey intro programme aimed at beginners that not only focuses on helping children develop some physical hockey superpowers such as dribbling, passing and goal scoring, but also places as much emphasis on character development superpowers, including teamwork, communication, perseverance and respect.

Our aim is for children to have lots of fun, experience lots of success, and feel like a hero! This will boost their confidence, and ensure a positive experience of physical activity and sport that will have a beneficial effect in the rest of their life.

Each session is 1 hour long, and will develop some fundamental movement skills, hockey skills and some interpersonal skills too! Above all it's aimed to be FUN for the kids!

Talking about the Hockey Heroes course, Ella Kenney, CHC's lead coach for Hockey Heroes had this to say "I'm looking forward to delivering this year's Hockey Heroes programme. Its going to be fun for the kids and chance for them to have a go at the sport. Hopefully they like it, and want to continue. "

The idea of Hockey Heroes is to introduce kids to hockey, without making it ALL about hockey - we want to make it fun and so the kids come back every week!
