YNE Open Division 1
Chesterfield 1 V Brigg 1
2.30pm, St Mary's School, Chesterfield.

Chesterfield Men's 1s will be looking to make it 6 wins in a row (7 if you include a walkover victory) as they take on Brigg at St Mary's School on Saturday. A tremendous run of form has seen the Evergreens beating 3 teams placed above them in the league, as well as upsetting the league champions Sheffield. The recent wins took the team safely away from a relegation battle, and put them into a relative position of security in 8th. Having secured promotion last season, it was going to be challenge to retain their position in the league, but in the end they managed it in style.

Captain Jack Hartley leads the goalscorers charts and has been a reliable thorn in the side of opposition with his pace and finishing causing problems throughout. However, the team's strength has come across the field with Olly Addy adding goals to his physicality, Ryan Speed is peerless as ever in midfield, and Sam McPherson has added some compsure to the back line.
Under coach Clive Morris the team will be wanting to go out with a bang and avenge their earlier narrow loss to Brigg before Christmas. If they win the 1s could finish as high as 5th, which would be a remarkable achievement after promotion last season.
