Chesterfield U10 boys travelled to The Grammar School Leeds to compete in the In2Hockey Yorkshire and North East finals.

After successfully qualifying for the trophy competition (top 8 teams in the region) earlier in the year, the boys knew they needed to be on top form.

Chesterfield were placed into a tough group, playing teams from Harrogate, Sheffield and Tynedale.The team fought hard and showed superb teamwork.

The Chesterfield team beat Tynedale and were involved in two extremely close, hard fought games against very good Sheffield and Harrogate teams, who finished the tournament in 1st and 2nd position respectively.

Chesterfield went on to beat Newcastle and in their final game, played Doncaster. Despite having the majority of the possession and numerous chances the game ended in a 0-0 draw. This meant the game had to be decided via shuffles which Chesterfield won 2-0. This secured a 5th place finish overall.

A fantastic day of hockey which saw Chesterfield score a total of 8 goals and only concede 3 against a very high standard of opposition.

Coach Emma Chapman said 'she could not have been any prouder and could not have asked for any more from the players'.
