A later start for the 2s with a delayed start whilst we patiently waited for the oppos' keeper to arrive and get kitted up, appeared to give the 2s some fire in their belly this week.
Facing the same opposition who they lost out to on their previous fixture, they were determined not to succumb to the same outcome.

As the game got started it was clear that Chesterfield meant businesses with the first 14 minutes or so seemingly all in Doncaster's half, Chesterfield fought for every opportunity including dives to keep the ball live in the D, but Donny were resilient to the onslaught.

By the 14th minute Doncaster had managed to make a break and were awarded a short corner, which Nic ran down and extinguished within a flash.

Chesterfield continued fighting for a goal and in the 17th minute worked the ball along the right wing, a pass from the wing to the baseline which Abi drove in and round the keeper to the back of the net, some confusion followed and uncertainty as the umpires spoke. Goal disallowed due to an alleged CHC foot.

Spirits not dampened, we had proven we could break their defence and find the back of the net.
An array of short corners followed, along with some great long corners by Sarah who utilised the space well driving into the D. Each ball that Donny got rid of, Emma, Anna and Sarah mopped back up and set chesterfield up for further attacks.

Half time- 0-0

The second half started much like the first, with Chesterfield determined to make this game a win.
Donny's defense worked tirelessly as did their keeper, this began to show as Chesterfield were able to intercept the majority of their hit outs resulting in more attacks.
Finally, the hard work, tenacity and resilience paid off and Freya made a strong run, releasing the ball to Elise who fired the ball to the back of the net in the 42nd minute - 1-0.
In the 51st minute a short corner was awarded, this time Emma slipped the ball to Nic who was waiting eagerly on the left, Nic swept the ball hard into the back of the net. 2-0.
The final goal came in the 61st minute, following what the umpires described as some great team play, the ball starting all the way from defense, working it's way up to find Elise who drove the ball to the D taking a shot, Abi stepped in front of the keeper before she could make the save and then turned and slotted the ball into the back of the net. 3-0.
A great return result!
Player of the match votes were awarded to Nic, Freya, Elise and Macie but POM went to Sarah.
