For the second game of the season (and the first away game), Chesterfield ladies 2s faced off against Doncaster Independent 1s.
The game started off strong with both Chesterfield and Doncaster eager to get the advantage. Despite Chesterfield’s strong defense, Doncaster managed to secure multiple short corners, two of which they converted, making the score 2-0. Chesterfield didn’t let this get to them and had a few drives forward into the D but were unfortunately not able to get it in the back of the net.
After an inspiring team talk telling them to “keep their heads up”, chesterfield brought back the energy for the second half. However, after a lucky breakthrough, Doncaster managed to secure their third goal. Despite this, chesterfield did as instructed and kept their heads up, and after a free hit from Abi G, Alex managed to evade her defender and secure their first goal. After another epic free hit from Abi G and a deflection from Jasmine, Kara managed to secure their second goal through a reverse stick through the keeper's legs. After another lucky break through chesterfield’s defense, Doncaster managed to secure their fourth and final goal, leaving the score a 4-2 win for Doncaster.
