Playing in their away colours of white after a long drive to Brigg, Chesterfield 2s faced a challenging match against a strong Brigg side, but despite the pressure, there were moments of teamwork and strength throughout the game.

First Half:
Chesterfield started brightly, moving the ball well and applying early pressure. However, a Brigg goal at 12 minutes unsettled the team. Brigg earned three consecutive short corners at 17 minutes, but outstanding defensive work from Meg kept them out, receiving a well earned complement from the umpire. Chesterfield responded with a strong attacking move, including a run the D by Freya and impressive play in the midfield from Alex. A Chesterfield short corner followed at 21 minutes, and despite good build‑up, Brigg continued to defend well. Brigg won short corners again at 29 and 31 minutes, but Chesterfield held firm going into half time. There was strong defence throughout the first half from Anna, Holly, Sarah, and Emma meaning Brigg struggled to convert any more attempts into goals.

Second Half:
Chesterfield came out stronger after the break, showing renewed energy from the half time sweets. Throughout the second half Alice and Nehir worked well moving the ball up the pitch. Despite this, Brigg converted a scrappy opportunity at 39 minutes to extend their lead. A minute later, Abi L received a green card for hitting the ball away, leaving Chesterfield with 10 players. Brigg continued to threaten, earning a short corner at 43 minutes and scoring again at 44 minutes. A further goal at 53 minutes saw Brigg walk the ball through an undefended D. Chesterfield kept fighting. A short corner at 54 minutes created momentum, and a great effort from Flo, supported by Clara and Nehir at 58 minutes forced a save. Their persistence paid off in the 59th minute when Alice slotted home a well‑worked goal, assisted by Sarah. Later in the game, Chesterfield earned short corners in the 63rd and 67th minutes. Alongside strong playing passages and shots on goal from Abi L. They pushed hard, helped by a great run and pressure from Nehir in the final moments.

This match also saw a positive debut performance from Daytona, who settled into the team well. Abi G stepped up as goalkeeper and did a great job preventing several goals with some impressive saves.
There were player of the match votes for Nehir, Freya, Abi G, Alex, Sarah and Meg, but the winner for her positivity, skill and amazing goal is Alice.
