Bathed in crisp autumn sunshine under pale blue skies, Chesterfield W2 delivered an absolute thriller in front of a roaring pitchside crowd. The sidelines were packed and loud from the opening whistle, bringing electric energy to a high-tempo morning on the turf.

​Chesterfield exploded out of the blocks just two minutes in. Kelly pulled off a razor-sharp interception deep in defense, turning defense into attack down the left before hammering a precise pass through to Kara, narrowly keeping it in the D and then a crisp pass across the D for Nehir to slot home. The green machine kept pressing hard, with Nic and Chloe dictating the tempo through the middle while Esme used her pace on the wing to stretch the Phoenix defense.

​At the back, Anna, Abi, and Karena formed a wall, while Ella showcased her versatility with a powerful drive into the circle. Kara surged forward to spark another lightning attack, feeding Florence, whose low strike was met by an athletic save.
Phoenix bundled home an equalizer from a short corner, but Charlie produced a masterclass in goal, bravely smothering a one-on-one breakaway to keep the sides level at the break.

​Phoenix struck early in the second half against the run of play, taking the lead on a swift counterattack. Chesterfield responded with relentless pressure. Niamh brought an immediate spark in midfield, firing a slick pass into the D for Jodie and Nehir to battle for the rebound.
​The closing minutes were an all-out assault on the Phoenix circle as Chesterfield hunted for an equalizer. Despite a chaotic, scrappy finish and relentless backing from the vocal home supporters, Phoenix managed to hold on by the skin of their teeth.
