First league match of the season for the under 16 girls and a big welcome to the team to our new goal keeper, Sofia-Mae who put in a confident performance.

Chesterfield started off in assured style passing the ball around, making great use of the width.The first goal started with Millie taking the ball down the right hand side and crossing into the D, after a couple of deflected shots Chloe W found the goal.

Again similar goal to the first one, great play down the right, this time Freya got the final touch, two nil.

Leeds had a few flurries in the Chesterfield D but goal keeper and the defence were up to the challenge.

Chesterfield kept the pressure on Leeds and were unlucky not to score with a few more attempts at goal.

In the second half, Chesterfield continued to create more chances with some excellent battling in midfield.

Leeds got away down the right and caught Chesterfield on the break and scored a well worked goal. 2-1.

After plenty of short corners from Chesterfield two further goals from Chloe W and Amelia sealed the win.

Girls Coach Heather says ‘Really strong performance from the girls, great team spirit, they have stepped up to the next level and we are looking forward the next cup match against Belper’
