First Aid Coordinator

CHC is looking for a voluntary First Aid Coordinator to join the growing Welfare Team. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, strong organisational skills and solid interpersonal skills due to the number of club members and other clubs that the role will liaise with. Due to the potential sensitive nature of medical records and under 18s involved, the club will be required to run a DBS check. For confirmation, this is a voluntary position at the club with view to a paid role as the club expands.

The volunteer’s roles will include:

  • Liaising with Junior Development Officer on training and match days to ensure appropriate first aid cover is provided for junior players during match days and training
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate first aid provision in place at youth and adult games and training
  • Liaising with first aid trainers and assessors to provide members, volunteers and coaches first aid training and qualifications, as part of their commitment to CHC
  • Ensuring the club keeps up-to-date records of first aid trained volunteers, staff and players
  • Liaising with club captains to ensure matchday first aid and Medical kits are appropriately stocked to treat sports related injuries. You will be responsible for ordering and re-stocking these kits as required
  • Responsible for the clubs first aid budget and providing the Treasurer will an end of season update on annual spend
  • Ensuring the clubs current first aid provision is up-to-date in accordance with England Hockey and other governing bodies if necessary
  • Continuing reviewing and assessing the club’s first aid provision looking for improvements and amendments to the current processes and systems.
