5. Facilities Volunteer Lead

CHC is looking for a Facilities Volunteer Lead to join to help assist with new developments and plans for our pitch and facilities at CHC as well as organising club members and volunteers who are responsible for maintaining our club facilities. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, strong organisational skills, be a creative do-er and be ready to get stuck into a number of upcoming changes at our pitch!

In the past few years, our club has merged and grown to nearly double the membership, both at adult and junior level. For this reason, our facilities are used more regularly, by more people and for longer periods of time. CHC is currently in talks to expand storage areas at the pitch and we are hoping to find a volunteer or volunteers who can help to orchestrate the best possible use of this space from the off. Alongside these developments, we are hoping to find a candidate (or candidates) who will be responsibility for:

  • Managing a team of volunteers and club members who will maintain the standards of facilities at St Marys and organising quarterly “Pitch Tidy” sessions
  • Helping to build the process for weekly usage, checks and maintenance for club members using the facilities to avoid complaints from facilities partners
  • Developing and instilling our club ethos to ensure club members pull together for the collective after match days, training and spectating - rather than leaving one person to clean/tidy up.
  • Being the voice of reason for new developments and current fittings at the pitch and facilities to understand what members and visitors are in need of
  • Developing solutions to the above issues and concerns raised in line with budgets, the requests of our facilities partner and league/England Hockey relegations.

Please apply by sending a short paragraph and a CV (for general work/a previous application) to Rob Anderson on rob@andersons-ea.co.uk. Please include the role you are interested in working with as part of the email subject.
